I have not heard of Eckart Tolle. But, I might have to check him out. You and I are not far apart in what we believe. While, I'm not into karma and eastern religions, I clearly understand what you are saying. The here and now - this world, is clearly different from the here-after. I believe it was designed that way. We are separated from the Creator in the here and now. Or,
mostly separated. We are provided with a large degree of autonomy. I presume so that we can individually see what we can do with our lives. Every action, every word, even every inaction is a choice, perhaps even a test, we are confronted with.
Do you like to listen to accounts of near-death experiences? I do. I find these accounts fascinating. Fascinating and with enough frequency and commonality for me to actually believe this realm is purposely designed different than the here-after.
No, we are not that far apart in our thinking.
I do like to read about those accounts.
We are on this planet in this time to keep evolving.
People misunderstand what karma means.
It's not about me doing something bad to you, and then someone does something equally bad to me.
Our karmic choices and actions will keep repeating until they get resolved.
Either in this life, or one that comes after.
If I was a rich person who treated poor people badly, I might choose to come back as a poor person to learn those lessons.
But, it's all based on love. Not punishment.
I believe that when we die we go to a place on the other side that matches our vibration.
A person with love in his heart will go to a loving place.
A person with hate will got to a hateful place, until he can learn and raise his vibration enough to move up.
